Permanent Why You Need Health Insurance

Waive Your
School Coverage

Many schools automatically enroll and charge students for the school policy, even if you have other coverage. Learn how to waive your school coverage if you have other insurance.

Top 3 Reasons
You Need Accident
Medical Coverage

Protect Your Savings - Accident Medical Coverage pays medical expenses from an accident not paid by your health insurance because you have not met your Annual Deductible or Coinsurance requirements, or are away from home (out-of-network).

Better Coverage - Accident Medical Coverage covers Dental, Physical Therapy, and hundreds of other items from an accident not covered by your health insurance--up to $10,000 per accident per person.

Save $1,000-$2,500 per Year - Accident Medical Coverage allows you to increase the Annual Deductible on your Individual or Employer health policy, saving you thousands each year on your premium or employee contribution.

Eligibility
Accident Medical Coverage

Accident Medical Coverage only pays medical expenses from an accident not covered by your health insurance—items like Doctors, Hospitals, Prescriptions, Ambulance, Dental, etc., or medical expenses not covered because you have not yet met your Annual Deductible or Coinsurance requirements.

Zane Benefits only offers Accident Medical Coverage to U.S. citizens, students, or residents who have Qualified Health Insurance—this is because we firmly believe that no American should be without health insurance and Accident Medical Coverage is not a substitute for health insurance.

Qualified Health Insurance includes the following:

  1. A employer-sponsored health benefits plan
  2. An individual or family health insurance policy
  3. A Student Health Insurance policy from an accredited college or university
  4. A StuHealth-purchased policy with a $1 million maximum benefit
  5. Medicaid coverage
  6. Medicare coverage
  7. State-Guaranteed coverage

Accident Medical Coverage provides benefits for medical expenses that result from an accident or injury—it does not provide benefits for medical expenses due to an illness.

Information on this page does not refer to a specific product, policy, or membership—all examples are only for purposes of education. Accident Medical Coverage described on this page can be obtained several ways including: (1) Contacting Zane Benefits to obtain a health insurance policy or plan offering protection against accidents; (2) Contacting Zane Benefits to purchase a standalone Accident Medical Coverage policy; (3) Lowering the Annual Deductible and/or coinsurance requirement of an existing employer-sponsored or other health policy; or (4) Joining an association that provides multiple benefits of membership, one of which is accident medical coverage—similar to the way some people join AAA for a package of benefits (maps, discounts) along with roadside assistance coverage at a better price than roadside assistance coverage might cost alone.
